The ESSEC Business School's faculty is expanding at the beginning of the 2017 academic year. 7 new professors and a researcher of various nationalities join the institution. These experts in their respective fields have been trained in the world's most prestigious institutions and publish their research in the best international academic journals.

They are now one of 162 faculty members, representing some 30 different nationalities.

Laurent BACH, Assistant Professor, Finance department

Dr Bach holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Paris School of Economics (PSE), an Mres from the London School of Economics (LSE), and is a graduate from HEC Paris. His current research focuses on corporate finance, entrepreneurship, household finance, and public economy.

Veronica CASARIN, Assistant Professor, Accounting and Management Control department

Dr Casarin received her Ph.D. from the Cardiff University and holds an M.Phil. from the London School of Economics (LSE). Her current research focuses on accounting in the construction of innovation, accounting and valuation as social, institutional and organizational practices.

Olga KLOPP, Associate Professor, Information Systems, Decision Sciences and Statistics department

Dr Klopp holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Her research focuses on nonparametric estimation, high-dimension inference and sparsity, learning theory, and matrix completion.

Ioana LUPU, Associate Professor, Accounting and Management Control department

Dr Lupu earned a Ph.D. from the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM) in Paris. Her research explores the work and identity of professional accountants, gender and diversity issues in professional settings, temporality and performance measurement in Big Four accounting firms, the sociology of calculation.

Andreea MORARU-ARFIRE, Assistant Professor, Accounting and Management Control department

Dr Moraru-Arfire earned a Ph.D. from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and a master’s for the University Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris. Her current research focuses on financial reporting, sell-side analysts, financial regulation, and international accounting.

Jérôme POUYET, Researcher, Economics department

Dr Pouyet holds a Ph.D. from the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and is a CNRS Research Fellow.  He will join the ESSEC - THEMA research unit where he will pursue his research mainly focusing on industrial organization, regulation and competition policy, network and digital industries.

Sara REZAEE VESSAL, Assistant Professor, Operations Management departement

Dr Rezaee Vessal received a Ph.D. from HEC Paris and an MBA from the Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden). Her current research focuses on collaboration in decentralized supply chains, collaboration for new product development, sustainable supply chain, and incentive design.

Tuck Siong CHUNG, Associate Professor, Marketing department

Dr Chung holds a Ph.D. from the Robert H. Smith School of Business – University of Maryland (USA) and a master’s from the Open University (UK). His research focuses on product personalization in mobile devices, digital marketing, CRM, cultural differences in consumer behavior.
