Established since 1981, Boston University's School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA) offers students a combination of rigorous academics, liberal arts curriculum, and international experiences for the pursuit of success in lodging, restaurants, food service, and other avenues of the hospitality industry.

Through our unique collaboration with Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA), graduate students enrolled through our IMHI program have the opportunity to earn part of their Master’s degree abroad – an opportunity that involves elective courses taught by premier internationally-recognized industry practitioners.
In Detail :

• Participants have the option of earning part of their Master’s degree abroad at Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA) or on campus, in Cergy, France.

Courses are taught in English, but a working level of French is recommended for participants looking to complete their internship in France.

• Participants interested in completing an internship in Boston benefit from an extensive network of partner hotels and restaurants, providing them with numerous opportunities to satisfy work experience requirements for their degree.

• Completion of this portion of the program earns students a Graduate certificate from Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA).

 Consultancy Project Partner - JLL

Consultancy projects provide a critical opportunity for students to apply management knowledge in practice. During the Final Consultancy Project, students are building on their two-year learning experience to come up with a comprehensive business solution taking into account all dimensions of any strategic decision.

In this hands-on learning experience, students work in teams as junior consultants on real-life projects commissioned by a hospitality business. Recent projects include missions for independent hotels as well as hotel groups with investment, marketing and distribution dimensions.

In this active learning experience, ESSEC partners with Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL), a world leading financial and professional services company specialized in real estate and students progress through their mission with the support of a seasoned team of consultants from JLL Hospitality Paris students act as consultants for real-life strategic projects



The consulting project course will allow students to face a real business case study, with a client (hotel owner) and ongoing support from JLL experts and me. Students will be considered as professional consultants and will be required to examine a real client case. Most common topics are: Hotel full refurbishment program, change in positioning, concept … all to maximize the owners’ asset. Students will be required to use their acquired knowledge and course materials (finance, revenue, operations, marketing, sales, asset management etc.) to build their report and drive added value to the client.
